St Augustine is a small jewel of a city on the east coast, full of romantic ambiance and old world charm. It is best known for its remarkable historic streets, Spanish style architecture, and panoramic bay.
Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast, 70 Cuna Street St., 800-908-9832. This bed and breakfast was built in 2008 and is in the historic district. Weekday rates start at $169. Rates include a full breakfast, beverages, afternoon deserts and parking is on-site.
After spending 50 or so years as an apartment building, (The Carriage Way Bed & Breakast) was ultimately converted to a bed and breakfast in 1984.
"Hospitality is in my blood," O'Neill says. "My mother was the director of sales and marketing for big hotel chains, so I've been running around them since I was five."

Once it' is safe to travel around the country again, plan a visit with your favorite B&B or inn.
Ingredients: * 6 Eggs * 12 Croissants in a tube * 5 Apples, unpeeled, cored and thin sliced * ½ cup Half and Half * 3 tbsp Vanilla * ½ cup Sugar * ½ cup Milk * ½ cup Sugar + 2 tsp. Cinnamon + 1 tsp Nutmeg for topping Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat pie plate with non‐stick cooking spray. Layer flat croissants until pie plate is covered. Mix eggs, half and half, milk, vanilla, and ½ cup sugar. Pour ½ of the egg mixture over croissants. Microwave apples with half of the sugar and cinnamon topping until softened but not cooked. Lay apple slices on top of croissants and pour the remaining egg mixture over apples. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture. Refrigerate overnight if you like. Bake for 1 hour with tin foil on top. Let stand before slicing. Cinnamon Sugar Glaze: 2 cups of powdered sugar ¼ cup of hot water Leftover juices from the microwaved apples Take the juices at the bottom of the microwaved apple dish and mix with 2 cups of powdered sugar, and ¼ cup of hot water. Whisk together. Ladle over fresh cut pie slices. Garnish with fresh mint.
You can substitute the apples for fresh peaches and omit microwaving of the fruit. the fruit.

On National Apple Pie Day, May 13, 2020, nearly four dozen inns throughout the country reached out to past and future guests during the COVID-19 pandemic and the time of social distancing that resulted. During the campaign, inns shared a digital postcard on social media featuring their own apple dessert recipes and a "Wish You Were Here" message to connect with past and future guests virtually.
Carriage Way was one of 12 inns chosen to be featured on Forbes Travel website with its recipe for Easy Peasey Apple-Cinnamon Pie.
